Hello
and welcome to Brookbank

Brookbank is the coming together of a group of psychotherapists with a shared desire to bring our skills to the people of Bollington and beyond.

We’re here to enhance the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our local community. Brookbank is a cooperative of sorts – we all live here, and we’re delighted to have found a space for our therapeutic practice right at the heart of the village.

We are Brookbank, and Brookbank House is our clinical home.

The Brookbank
Story

Brookbank was founded in 2019 by Sarah, Christine and Maisa, a group of psychotherapists in independent practice. Our aim is to provide accessible therapeutic services here in the community of Bollington.

We share a belief in the value of relationships as a resource for growth and development, and the establishment and development of supportive therapeutic relationships is at the heart of our work.

Central to our philosophy is an understanding that the quality of our connections to others is inextricably linked to our own emotional wellbeing and our capacity to lead creative lives.

We each have many years of experience in NHS, educational, charitable, forensic and independent settings, and we’re all members of accrediting organisations that bind us to approved codes of ethics.

We offer a range of therapeutic approaches to support individuals, couples and families who are looking to make change.

We also offer clinical supervision to our fellow therapy practitioners.

Who we are

Christine Rolph Art Psychotherapist Cheshire.jpg

Hello, I’m Christine, and I’m an independent creative psychotherapist with a Master’s in Art Psychotherapy Practice.

Hello, I’m Christine, and I’m an independent creative psychotherapist with a Master’s in Art Psychotherapy Practice.

After a decade working in prisons, I’m now a full-time independent practitioner offering collaborative therapy for individual adults and groups.

Creative psychotherapy can offer you an alternative way to share your story. It’s about exploring things together; collaboration and agency; seeing yourself more fully as a human being. I believe in bringing curiosity, aliveness and playfulness into the therapeutic space.

My own way of working is psychodynamic/integrative in nature, so anything that comes into the room will have value, and be met with curiosity and compassion. There is no fixed or ‘right’ way to do this work.

I’m also a qualified Creative Clinical Supervisor currently working with supervisees from many different modalities. I’m passionate about supervision and see it as a bit like the reflective, analytical compost in which to grow as a practitioner.

Sarah Fielding Child Psychotherapist Cheshire_edited.jpg

Hello, I’m Sarah, and I’m a psychoanalytic child and adolescent psychotherapist and parent-infant psychotherapist. I’m registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists, and I trained at the Tavistock Centre and at the Anna Freud Centre, both in London.

I have worked as a therapist with parents and infants, children, young people and their families for over 20 years in NHS, third-sector and independent settings.

I provide brief and long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy to children and young people (up to the age of 24), as well as parent and family work, and parent-infant work. In addition to my private practice, I work in the NHS running a specialist parent-infant psychotherapy service.

I am able to offer support with issues such as: parent-infant bonding difficulties, excessive crying or sleep/feeding difficulties in infancy, child/adolescent depression and anxiety, relationship problems, difficulties managing strong feelings, eating difficulties, and trauma.

Maisa Garcia-Fernandez Relationship Ther

Maisa Garcia
-Fernandez

Hello, I’m Maisa, and I’m a relationship and psychosexual therapist.

I trained and worked at Cheshire Relate, and I completed my psychosexual training with Cate Campbell at Manchester TLC. Over almost two decades, I have worked as a relationship therapist and delivered workshops for Christies and various breast cancer charities. I am also a clinical supervisor, and I lecture on the graduate and postgraduate Counselling courses at Staffordshire University.

I offer a time-tested combination of collaborative and integrative approaches to relationship, sexual and meaning-of-life concerns.

I believe there are simple approaches that can transform a couple’s relationship into a truly cooperative and affectionate one. Noticing the lack of effective communication is one of the first steps towards achieving lasting changes to relationships that we can come to cherish.

With new insights, sexual relationships can become truly intimate, and improving your relationship with yourself can turn into a deeply meaningful and lifelong adventure.
